Binance Pay enables USDT spending at PayPay merchants in Japan

Binance Pay will route USDT payments via HIVEX to PayPay merchants, with merchants settled in yen starting Wednesday.

Cointelegraph reports that Binance Pay will let eligible overseas visitors in Japan spend Tether USDt (USDT) at most PayPay-supported merchants starting Wednesday.

The service will use HIVEX, a payment interoperability framework that connects overseas QR payment systems to PayPay merchants in Japan, according to Cointelegraph.

Binance said merchants will continue receiving settlement in yen and that merchants will not need to opt in separately to accept the payments, the outlet added.
