Compass CEO sets October 6 deadline to change MLS listing rules
HousingWire reports Compass CEO Robert Reffkin said the company could file antitrust suits starting mid-October if MLS rules are not adjusted.
Compass CEO Robert Reffkin told Council of MLS attendees that Compass wants MLSs to stop fining agents for publicly marketing office exclusives.
HousingWire reports Reffkin said Compass is prepared to pursue antitrust litigation starting mid-October, with an October 6 deadline for MLS rule changes.
At the Council of MLS Open House conference, Reffkin argued agents should be guided by sellers and the law, not MLS restrictions, and said the company has sent multiple letters to MLSs over the past year with demands related to its listings practices.
