Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac extend UAD 2.6 submissions for some lenders

The one-time exception lets approved sellers keep submitting new UAD 2.6 appraisals from Nov. 2 through May 19, 2027, and resubmit existing ones through June 27, 2027.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have introduced a one-time policy exception that allows approved sellers that cannot meet the UAD 3.6 mandate deadline to continue using UAD 2.6 appraisal submissions for a limited period, HousingWire reported.

Under the exception, sellers approved by the applicable GSE can submit new UAD 2.6 appraisal reports to the Uniform Collateral Data Portal from Nov. 2 through May 19, 2027, and resubmit previously delivered UAD 2.6 appraisals through June 27, 2027.

The UAD 3.6 mandate itself is not changing, the report said. Sellers that fully implement UAD 3.6 by Nov. 2 will remain compliant with the GSE selling guides, while sellers that do not transition by that date and do not obtain an exception will be out of compliance.
