Gemini upgrades Zcash software ahead of faster 25-second blocks

Gemini said its new Zakura nodes synced to the Zcash network in just over six hours, faster than its prior software deployment.

Gemini, owned by the Winklevoss family, switched to a newer Zcash software stack ahead of the network moving to faster 25-second blocks, CoinDesk reports.

The outlet says Gemini deployed “Zakura” nodes and that the new nodes caught up with the Zcash network in just over six hours.

CoinDesk also notes that Gemini’s earlier software took close to a day to reach that catch-up point during a prior deployment.
