PCE inflation gauge signals price pressures persisted in August
The August reading showed little easing, while revisions indicated inflation was slightly cooler than previously estimated.
New York Times Business reports that the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation measure, the Personal Consumption Expenditures price index, showed little sign of easing in August.
The outlet said revised data pointed to inflation being slightly cooler than previously believed, despite the lack of clear improvement in the latest reading.
