Trump announces AI controls agreement with major US tech CEOs

The pact, dubbed the Joint Commitment On Frontier Responsibilities, follows a White House luncheon with top tech executives.

US President Donald Trump announced that heads of major US tech and AI companies signed a “morally binding” agreement aimed at putting controls on artificial intelligence, calling it a form of protection, according to the Guardian Business.

The deal was named the Joint Commitment On Frontier Responsibilities, and Trump said it was announced after a White House luncheon with top tech executives.

Trump also signed an executive order renaming artificial intelligence to “superintelligence,” a move described as similar to a declaration he made at the United Nations last week, the Guardian Business reported.
