UK bulk annuity transactions hit £10.2 billion in first half of 2026
Aon said the figure came across 138 transactions, up from £9.7 billion in the first half of 2025.
Aon reported that the UK bulk annuity market stayed active in the first half of 2026, supported by strong provider competition and continued demand from pension schemes, according to its latest assessment published by Reinsurance News.
According to Aon, UK bulk annuity transactions totaled £10.2 billion in the first six months of 2026, higher than £9.7 billion in the first half of 2025, with activity spread across 138 transactions.
Aon said the second half typically accounts for a larger share of annual volumes, and it expects several larger deals disclosed during the period to complete later in 2026.
The firm also reported that more than 1,000 bulk annuity transactions have been completed in the UK since the beginning of 2023, and that insurers have continued developing streamlined solutions for schemes seeking deals below £100 million.
