USD/JPY trades in 156.38 to 157.52 range, mildly offered

Societe Generale cited dovish remarks from New York Fed President John Williams and fiscal half-end repatriation flows as factors weighing on the pair.

FXStreet reported that USD/JPY was trading between 156.38 and 157.52 overnight, with the pair described as mildly offered.

According to Societe Generale’s FX team, the tone was tied to dovish comments from New York Federal Reserve President John Williams.

The team also pointed to fiscal half-end repatriation flows as part of the backdrop.

FXStreet added that USD/JPY was keeping losses below 157.00 in the Asian session, even as hawkish Bank of Japan expectations and potential intervention risks supported the yen.
