Wipro tops list of Indian firms with 14 bonus issues
Wipro leads the group, followed by Larsen & Toubro with 10, while Infosys and Bajaj Holdings & Investment each have eight and ITC has seven bonus issues.
LiveMint Markets highlighted how bonus issues are a closely watched corporate action in India, noting that while a single bonus issue does not increase the value of total holdings on the announcement day, repeated bonus issues can compound the share count over time.
The outlet reported that Wipro leads the group with 14 bonus issues, followed by Larsen & Toubro with 10.
It also said Infosys and Bajaj Holdings & Investment have each announced eight bonus issues, while ITC has seven.
LiveMint Markets added that these companies’ bonus histories stretch back to the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, with Wipro having the highest number among the five companies in the list.
