AI office leasing requirements rise 27% year over year
VTS data shows new AI office requirements increased from 644 to 820 across 17 markets, with San Francisco, New York, and Silicon Valley driving most of the active demand.
The number of new AI-related office leasing requirements rose 27% over the past year, increasing from 644 to 820, according to data reported by VTS and covered by ConnectCRE.
ConnectCRE reports that the gains came from 12 of the 17 markets VTS tracks, and that demand is concentrated in three markets, San Francisco, New York, and Silicon Valley.
Together, those three markets account for 64% of the 16.9 million square feet of active AI office demand, and they hold 55 of the 83 large requirements nationwide.
ConnectCRE also notes that New York moved into second place for active AI demand, with 2.79 million square feet, slightly ahead of Silicon Valley at 2.78 million square feet.
