AllUnity launches USDAU, a MiCA regulated US dollar stablecoin
The new USDAU follows AllUnity’s Wednesday expansion of its MiCA regulated lineup beyond European currencies, as EU stablecoin rules are reviewed and the ECB has raised concerns about dollar dominance.
European stablecoin issuers are arguing that demand for regulated US dollar tokens is not going away, citing continued business needs for dollar liquidity in global payments and settlement, according to Cointelegraph.
Cointelegraph reports that AllUnity, a German stablecoin issuer, launched USDAU, a US dollar-pegged stablecoin, on Wednesday, expanding its MiCA-regulated lineup beyond European currencies.
The outlet also notes that the move comes as the EU reviews its MiCA framework and the ECB continues to raise concerns that stablecoins reinforce the dollar’s global dominance.
