Bitpanda co-CEO says MiCA boosts trust in regulated crypto platforms

Christian Trummer said he wants regulators to crack down harder on noncompliant firms, arguing many users now trust regulated market participants more than before.

Austria-based crypto exchange Bitpanda co-CEO Christian Trummer said Europe’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework, MiCA, has increased users’ trust in regulated crypto platforms, according to Cointelegraph.

Speaking on Cointelegraph’s Chain Reaction, Trummer said most users now have “more faith” in regulated market participants after MiCA’s rollout.

He contrasted that shift with what he described as a Crypto Twitter focus on self-custody, and he called for stricter enforcement against noncompliant firms.

Cointelegraph reported the remarks as part of its coverage of how MiCA is influencing sentiment toward regulated exchanges in Europe.
