Coinbase ends International Exchange trading after switching to Deribit
The Oct. 1 cutover left the prior venue read-only, with maintenance complete at 10:02 UTC and open International Exchange orders canceled rather than transferred.
Coinbase completed the migration of its Coinbase International Exchange to Deribit on Oct. 1, ending trading on the former international venue, according to CryptoSlate.
The old exchange is now read-only, and the switch changes trading access for affected institutional clients, including new trading connections, a different settlement cycle, and separate historical records.
CryptoSlate reports that the transition also consolidated derivatives liquidity previously split across the two venues, while available products and access still depend on account type and location.
For clients using API or FIX connections, Coinbase says International Exchange keys will not work, and Deribit endpoints plus newly created Deribit API keys are required, with API-key IP allowlists not carrying over and open International Exchange orders canceled at the halt rather than transferred.
