The District of Columbia Housing Authority appointed Nicole Wickliffe as its executive director after a unanimous board vote on Sept. 16, with her appointment beginning Thursday, the agency announced, according to Bisnow.

Wickliffe had been serving as interim executive director since April, and she replaced Keith Pettigrew, who left last month to become CEO of the Chicago Housing Authority.

Wickliffe had joined DCHA as deputy executive director at the end of 2023 after serving as deputy director for the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority.

In the agency’s release, board chair Raymond Skinner said the board has confidence in DCHA’s future with Wickliffe at the helm, and Wickliffe said she is looking to strengthen partnerships with the mayor’s office and D.C. Council.
