Davidson Kempner builds global research function with an AI lab
The firm, which manages more than $40bn and invests across multiple asset classes, says the AI lab will work with investment groups on projects to embed AI into its processes.
Davidson Kempner is building a centralized global research function led by Suzanne Gibbons, according to Hedgeweek. The investment management firm said it has a global remit, manages over $40bn, and invests across many asset classes, which it says requires a deep research platform.
Hedgeweek reports that Gibbons oversees a global research team that supports investment teams from idea generation through trading implementation. The outlet also said the approach is intended to be a differentiator for the firm, and it includes integrating AI into research in a way that is meant to add value to the process.
Hedgeweek said Davidson Kempner has launched an AI lab led by a member of its quant research team and a leader of its front office technology team. The lab is described as working with investment groups on projects designed to bring AI into their processes.
