EUR/USD climbs back above 1.1250 after weaker US jobs data

EUR/USD rose to about 1.1260, after dipping to 1.1221 earlier in the day.

EUR/USD rebounded to around 1.1260 on Friday, up about 0.16% at the time of writing, after falling to an intraday low of 1.1221 earlier in the session, according to FXStreet.

The dollar came under pressure following US employment data that pointed to labor market weakness, with US Bureau of Labor Statistics Nonfarm Payrolls rising by 29K in September versus market expectations of 90K.

FXStreet also noted that revisions showed further downside to job growth, with August payroll gains revised down to 133K from 162K and July employment growth revised to a decline of 10K.

In the report, the unemployment rate edged higher to 4.2% and the labor force participation rate increased to 61.8%, while average hourly earnings rose 3.0% year over year, below the 3.2% expected.
