Former Morgan Stanley quant Yingyi Chu leaves Rokos after about a year
Chu joined Rokos in September 2025 as head of equity investment quants, and the UK FCA register shows he left the firm’s UK entity at the end of July.
Hedgeweek reports that Yingyi Chu, a former senior quantitative strategist at Morgan Stanley, has departed macro hedge fund Rokos Capital Management after about a year at the firm, citing UK regulatory records.
According to the report, Chu was appointed to lead equity investment quants when he joined Rokos in September 2025. However, the UK Financial Conduct Authority register indicates he left Rokos’s UK entity at the end of July.
Hedgeweek also says Rokos declined to comment on Chu’s current role, while Chu did not respond to requests for comment.
The outlet adds that Chu previously spent three and a half years at Capstone Investment Advisors and nearly five years at Morgan Stanley, where he headed quantitative investment strategies after earlier work as a strategist at Goldman Sachs.
