Review finds room intrusions reported at nearly one in 10 Travelodge hotels

An independent review into Travelodge security has found guests are still at risk, with room intrusions reported at nearly one in 10 of the chain’s hotels this summer, despite Travelodge strengthening its key security policy, according to the Guardian Business.

The review, published as a 70 page report, was commissioned after a man was convicted of a serious sexual assault against a Travelodge guest in Maidenhead in 2022, and the perpetrator was given a copy of the victim’s room key after falsely claiming to be her boyfriend.

The report said Travelodge’s security policy was not being applied with enough consistency.
