Treasury says over 60 million children were auto-enrolled in 530A accounts

The Treasury announcement said the program uses automatic enrollment, and parents may already have an account in place for eligibility.

CNBC Markets reports that the Treasury Department said more than 60 million children have been automatically enrolled in Trump Accounts.

According to the Treasury Department announcement shared exclusively with CNBC, the auto-enrollment is tied to 530A savings accounts.

The New York Times Business writes that the administration may have already signed up children for 530A savings accounts if they have not enrolled already.
