U.S. oil and gas rig count edges up to 598 as oil prices fall
Baker Hughes data showed total U.S. rig activity at 598, while the number of active oil rigs rose to 456.
OilPrice reports that the total number of active drilling rigs for oil and gas in the United States fell this week, based on new Baker Hughes data released on Friday.
The outlet said the total U.S. rig count dropped to 598, a year-over-year change of plus 49 versus the same time last year.
OilPrice added that active oil rigs increased by 1 to 456 in the latest reporting period, which it said was 34 higher than a year earlier.
