UK diesel hits £2 a litre for first time as prices surge
The RAC data put diesel at 200.1 pence per litre, up 40.5% since late February, and a 55 litre fill now costs £110.01.
Diesel prices in the UK have reached a record level, with the average price hitting £2 a litre for the first time, according to new data from the RAC.
The RAC said diesel was priced at 200.01 pence per litre, and it has risen 40.5% since the start of the Iran war at the end of February, when the average was 142.38 pence per litre.
With the latest price level, a 55 litre tank of diesel now costs £110.01, which the RAC said is £31.70 more than on 28 February.
Separately, the same live coverage also noted eurozone inflation rising, with the eurozone core measure excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco inching up to 2.5% in September from 2.4% in August.
