Bessent walks back “I am the house” comment in Axios interview

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent defended the Treasury Department’s record in the bond market in a televised Axios interview, following his earlier “I am the house” remark from about a month ago.

MarketWatch reports that Bessent used the interview to walk back the comment after bond yields continued to rise rather than stopping.
