Coinbase says Autopilot cut a 90-case support test to 30–45 minutes

The exchange said Autopilot tests bot-handling procedures while keeping human approval before any procedure changes reach production.

Coinbase says its Autopilot system can complete a support-testing cycle for about 90 cases in 30 to 45 minutes, a process it previously said took one to two weeks of manual setup and execution, according to CryptoSlate.

The company said the system, which it described as testing the procedures that support bots follow when handling customer problems, retains human approval before procedure changes reach production.

Coinbase also said its disclosure focused on measuring automation reliability and accountability, noting customers need their account issues resolved correctly and that data access must be limited to proper authority, while leaving customer outcomes unmeasured in its disclosures.

CryptoSlate also noted that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong had previously announced an approximately 14% workforce reduction in a May 5 memo, citing both a weak crypto market and AI changing how employees work.
