Euro faces renewed selling pressure as France fiscal worries grow
FXStreet said the euro weakened most versus the Japanese yen as investors also weighed upcoming France and US data, including PPI and ISM services PMI.
The euro is under renewed selling pressure at the start of the week as investors focus on concerns about France's fiscal outlook, according to FXStreet. The outlet said the European calendar includes September Producer Price Index and October Sentix Investor Confidence data.
FXStreet also noted that later in the day the US will release the ISM Services Purchasing Managers' Index for September. The piece said euro moves against major currencies are being tracked via a daily table and heat map of percentage changes.
FXStreet reported that analysts at OCBC linked the pressure on the euro to rising fragmentation fears, saying they are tightening financial conditions through higher sovereign borrowing costs and wider risk premia, with financial stability concerns competing against inflation risks. The article ends mid-sentence after the caution about those shifting concerns.
