Eurozone private-sector PMI jumps to 41-month high in September

The PMI Composite rose to 53.1, while input-cost and output-price inflation accelerated to their fastest rates since May.

Eurozone private-sector growth accelerated sharply in September, with the PMI Composite increasing from 52.0 to 53.1, its highest level in 41 months, according to Action Forex.

PMI Services also climbed from 51.6 to 53.0, the strongest reading since last November, as the improvement spread across both manufacturing and services.

The upswing was supported by strengthening demand conditions, including new business growing for a third straight month at the fastest pace in 41 months, and export orders rising at their strongest rate in more than four-and-a-half years.

Action Forex also noted renewed inflation pressures, with composite input-cost and output-charge inflation both accelerating sharply to their fastest rates since May.
