QRT hires Adhitya Sethaputra to expand metals trading operation
Sethaputra is expected to join QRT’s Geneva office in November after leaving Radiant World, where he led refined metals.
Qube Research & Technologies is expanding its metals trading operation by appointing Adhitya Sethaputra, who is joining the multi-strategy hedge fund after departing commodities trader Radiant World, according to a Bloomberg report cited by Hedgeweek.
Hedgeweek reports that Sethaputra is expected to join QRT’s Geneva office in November. Before the move, he served as head of refined metals at Radiant World, with the base metals operation run separately from the firm’s iron ore business.
The report also says Sethaputra previously held senior roles at IXM Holding, including head of aluminium and co-head of refined metals.
Hedgeweek notes that the change comes as QRT and other large multi-strategy hedge funds increasingly explore physical commodities trading, focusing on less liquid and more specialized segments for metals such as copper, aluminium, and zinc. It also points to recent pressure on Radiant World, where the iron ore business has been tied to allegations involving falsified documents to obtain hundreds of millions of dollars in financing, which Radiant World has denied.
