Kai Tak Hospital opens first phase and treats nearly 300 patients

The hospital said it expects family medicine services to handle about 1,800 patients per day by the end of the year.

Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Hospital has started its first phase of operations, treating nearly 300 patients at its family medicine integrated centre on Monday morning, according to SCMP Economy.

SCMP Economy reports the hospital expects the daily patient number to rise to about 1,800 by the end of the year as the service ramps up.

The centre began seeing patients at the specialist outpatient clinic block from 8:30am, with volunteers positioned along the route to direct arrivals.

The outlet also said lawmakers urged more frequent connecting transport and better public information about transit options to the hospital.
