PepsiCo recalls Gatorade varieties over undeclared yellow dye
The FDA notice says PepsiCo started a class II voluntary recall on September 25, covering about 122,000 cases across 37 US states.
PepsiCo initiated a voluntary class II recall of certain 28oz Gatorade varieties due to “undeclared” yellow dyes, according to a federal FDA notice cited by The Guardian Business.
The recall involves 28oz bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Lime Zero, Orange and Gatorade Orange Zero, the notice said.
The advisory indicates PepsiCo began the recall on September 25, and the affected product totals about 122,000 cases distributed across 37 US states.
The notice classifies it as class II, meaning it involves a situation where exposure could cause temporary or medically reversible harm, according to the FDA description reproduced in the report.
