Prediction markets move into mainstream media ahead of NEXTPredict
Organizers for the October 22 to 23 event at Convene, Hudson Yards plan to add more media access, with the number of passes rising to between 100 and 200.
Prediction markets are drawing more mainstream coverage, with odds increasingly quoted on cable news, wire copy, and in equity research notes, according to Decrypt.
NEXTPredict, scheduled for October 22 to 23 at Convene in Hudson Yards, New York, has brought working reporters onto the program rather than routing them to a press room behind the event, Decrypt reports.
CNBC correspondent Contessa Brewer and CNN senior reporter Marshall Cohen were added in August, and organizers expect more than 50 speakers and 2,500 attendees as they aim to reach broader audiences.
NEXT.io co-founder and managing director Pierre Lindh said the event’s media plan grew from 50 passes to between 100 and 200, while Decrypt also points to a gap between media presence and prediction market user numbers, citing Polymarket monthly active users around 283,300 based on Token Terminal data.
