Singapore looks to nuclear power as Iran war strains energy supplies
Singapore is trying to expand indigenous and alternative energy sources as it faces high oil and gas prices tied to the war in Iran, OilPrice reports.
The outlet says the challenge is that Singapore has limited space for new energy buildouts, given it is among the most densely populated countries in the world, leaving few locations to expand generation capacity.
OilPrice adds that Singapore is therefore searching for solutions beyond imported oil and gas, including nuclear power and other alternatives, as it works to address its energy supply and pricing pressure.
