At least 50 Iranian tankers are stranded in the Persian Gulf
A UANI shipping update says the stranded vessels are carrying oil and remain inside the Persian Gulf near Iran’s coastline.
A U.S. blockade on Iranian oil exports has left at least 50 Iranian tankers stranded inside the Persian Gulf near Iran’s coastline, according to a shipping update from U.S.-based policy group United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI).
The update said the tankers are laden with oil and have been unable to move due to the ongoing blockade.
UANI linked the current situation to a U.S. decision to reinstate the blockade in mid-July after the collapse of what it described as the “deal to make a deal.”
