Champion Homes to acquire Timberline Homes to expand retail footprint
The deal marks Champion Homes’ third retail acquisition in about 18 months, as it seeks higher plant utilization from a 62% baseline and more margin capture across manufacturing and retail.
HousingWire reports that Champion Homes will acquire Timberline Homes to expand its company-owned retail locations and route more volume through its own plants.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed price, is Champion Homes’ third retail acquisition in roughly a year and a half, and the company says it does not add manufacturing capacity.
According to HousingWire, the strategy targets lifting plant utilization from a 62% baseline and capturing both manufacturing and retail margins, reflecting a shift toward direct-to-consumer sales.
HousingWire also noted that in the first quarter, the manufactured housing industry production was concentrated among three players, with Clayton Homes at 46.4% market share, Champion Homes at 22.8%, and Cavco Industries at 17.2%, citing a Q1 2026 report from the Manufactured Housing Institute.
