CPKC hits new grain haul records in September and Q3
World Grain reports the railway moved 2.94 million tonnes of grain and grain products in Canada in September, its second straight record month.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway set new records for transporting grain and grain products across Canada and the United States for the month of September and the third quarter, according to World Grain.
In Canada, CPKC moved 2.94 million tonnes and 30,324 carloads of grain and grain products in September, described as the second record month in a row to begin the 2026-27 crop year.
In the United States, the railway moved 2.51 million tonnes and 26,236 carloads of grain and grain products in September.
World Grain also said the July to September three-month period set third-quarter records for both carloads and tonnes in Canadian and US grain combined, with CPKC attributing the results to the efforts of its workers, customers, and the broader grain supply chain.
