EEZ tests atomic cross-chain L1-to-L2 Ethereum transaction

The test involved an atomic cross-chain call that moved 0.001 ETH between Ethereum mainnet and a layer-2 network, with linked actions intended to either all succeed or revert.

Ethereum’s Economic Zone (EEZ) has tested an atomic transaction linking Ethereum mainnet with a layer-2 network, Cointelegraph reports.

According to Cointelegraph, an EEZ contributor shared logs showing a cross-chain call carrying 0.001 ETH and a state update for a rollup, describing it as the first atomic cross-chain L1-to-L2 transaction.

Cointelegraph adds that, in an atomic transaction, the linked actions across networks are designed to either all succeed or be reversed if any part fails.

The report also notes that, in March, EEZ developers said their framework was designed to let rollups integrate with Ethereum mainnet.
