Hong Kong to submit crypto licensing bill amendment by end of 2026
The proposed licensing framework would cover trading, custody, and advisory and management services for digital asset activities.
Hong Kong officials reaffirmed plans to submit an amendment bill before the end of 2026 to expand the city’s crypto licensing framework for digital asset activities, according to Cointelegraph.
The licensing regime would cover four categories, including digital asset trading, custody, advisory services, and management services, as part of Hong Kong’s broader crypto licensing bill.
Cointelegraph reports that Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong, Christopher Hui, said the government will submit the amendment bill “within this year,” citing a statement released by the Hong Kong government.
