Indian stocks set for higher open with GIFT Nifty signal
The BSE Sensex gained 472.8 points, or 0.7%, to end at 72,382.5, while the NSE Nifty rose 133.8 points, or 0.6%, to close at 22,555.8 after Monday’s rally.
LiveMint Markets said India’s equity market was expected to open higher on Tuesday, October 6, with GIFT Nifty pointing to a positive start for domestic benchmarks.
GIFT Nifty was indicated to be trading around 22,663, up nearly 81 points from the previous close of Nifty futures, signaling firmer momentum at the open.
The report said the Sensex and Nifty ended higher on Monday after a recent losing streak, supported by easing concerns around oil supplies and positive global cues.
Investors were expected to watch company-specific updates on Tuesday, with names including Vedanta, IREDA, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Trent, and Marico among those in focus.
