Protesters target AI firms with direct action
Campaign groups under the PauseAI confederation, which operates across 17 countries, say their anti-AI efforts are growing after a wave of AI safety alerts and apocalyptic warnings, according to the Guardian Business.
The outlet reports that a cell of protesters met in London to plan disrupting a tech industry dinner that a senior executive from chip maker Nvidia was scheduled to address.
One of the plotters described joining after months of increasing alarm, and the report says the group includes activists with backgrounds in other protest movements.
