Singapore woman added to US register of worst criminal aliens

The case centers on Jing Emtage, 54, who was sentenced in July to two years and two months for promoting prostitution across Washington state massage parlours.

A Singaporean woman, Jing Emtage, 54, has been added to a US register of “the worst of the worst criminal aliens,” making her the third Singaporean citizen listed after Amos Yee and Lim Seok Pheng, according to SCMP Economy.

SCMP Economy reports that Emtage was sentenced in July last year to two years and two months in prison on seven counts of second-degree promoting prostitution linked to multiple Washington state massage parlours she ran with her husband, Gerald Emtage, who received a jail term of three years and two months for the same offences.

The outlet adds that both defendants also received concurrent 12-month sentences for money laundering after an investigation that began in 2021, and they were arrested in 2023.

Prosecutors cited by SCMP Economy said the couple made “significant profits” from the commercial sexual exploitation of dozens of women while living in a home valued at more than $1 million, and that although they hid hundreds of thousands of dollars at the residence, there were no state records of wages paid to victims required to provide services.
