Bitmine to stop Ethereum token purchases after reaching 5% ownership

CoinDesk says Bitmine’s accumulation streak began in mid-2025 and is set to end once the company reaches 5% of ETH.

CoinDesk reports that Tom Lee said Bitmine will stop purchasing Ethereum tokens once it owns 5% of ETH.

The outlet says Lee’s comment sets an end date for Bitmine’s Ethereum accumulation streak, which began in mid-2025.

According to CoinDesk, the purchases made Bitmine the world’s largest Ethereum treasury.
