Canadian poet Anne Carson wins Nobel Prize in Literature
The Swedish Academy has named Canadian poet and essayist Anne Carson as the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature winner, according to SCMP Economy. The outlet said the decision was announced in Stockholm.
Carson, 76, was recognized “for her bold and inventive oeuvre” that builds on classical traditions while creating new forms for contemporary literature, SCMP Economy reported.
SCMP Economy noted that last year’s Literature Nobel went to Hungarian writer Laszlo Kras.
