CleanTech Lithium adds two Argentina brine properties near Laguna Verde
CleanTech Lithium said exploration at its new Antofalla project is planned for 2027, while Laguna Verde remains its development priority.
CleanTech Lithium has secured options to add two lithium brine properties in Argentina’s Salar de Antofalla, expanding its portfolio near its flagship Laguna Verde project, according to Mining.com.
The company signed agreements to acquire 100% of the Genoveva and Sal de Litio 1 properties, collectively called the Antofalla project, located about 80 km from Laguna Verde in Catamarca Province.
The licenses sit adjacent to an exploration property held by Albemarle, the world’s top lithium producer, and CleanTech said the acquisition could allow it to share infrastructure and processing facilities across its regional lithium projects.
Following the announcement, CleanTech shares rose 7.4% in London, closing at 7.25 pence apiece and valuing the developer at £25.5 million, or $34 million, while it plans to begin exploration at Antofalla in 2027.
