Euro holds steady as traders await ECB, BoE and Fed remarks
EUR/USD slid more than 0.5% on Wednesday as widening French-German bond spreads and doubts about ECB tightening weighed on the currency.
In the European session on Thursday, the euro was holding steady against major rivals after sharp losses earlier in the week, with traders looking ahead to multiple central bank remarks.
FXStreet said speeches from the European Central Bank, the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve are scheduled later in the day, alongside the ECB publishing minutes from its September policy meeting.
The US economic calendar also includes weekly Initial Jobless Claims and Wholesale Inventories data for August, while euro weakness on Wednesday was tied to widening French-German bond yield spreads and increasing doubts about the ECB's ability to tighten policy.
FXStreet added that EUR/USD fell by more than 0.5% on Wednesday and remained under bearish pressure into Thursday.
