Europol warns that quantum computers could expose private keys

Europol urged developers, exchanges, and users to begin phased post-quantum migrations immediately to help prevent future unauthorized fund transfers.

CoinDesk reports that Europol says advances in quantum computing pose a risk to exposed private keys rather than the underlying blockchains themselves.

According to CoinDesk, Europol’s warning focuses on the need to reduce the chance of future unauthorized fund transfers.

Europol urged developers, exchanges, and users to initiate phased post-quantum migrations immediately.

The push is aimed at better protecting crypto holdings as quantum capabilities develop.
