Federal Reserve approves Peoples Bancorp merger with Citizens National

The Fed approved Peoples Bancorp, of Marietta, Ohio, to merge with Citizens National Corporation and indirectly acquire Citizens Bank of Kentucky, Inc., of Paintsville, Kentucky.

The Federal Reserve Board announced approval of Peoples Bancorp Inc.'s application to merge with Citizens National Corporation and indirectly acquire Citizens Bank of Kentucky, Inc., both based in Paintsville, Kentucky, according to the Fed release.

The Board also approved a merger between Peoples Bank, Marietta, Ohio, and Citizens Bank of Kentucky, Inc., and authorized Peoples Bank to establish and operate branches at Citizens Bank of Kentucky locations.

The announcement was issued by the Federal Reserve Board on Friday, with the release noting a 4:30 p.m. EDT time.
