Gold rebounds from two-month low as hawkish Fed weighs

Gold trades around $4,130 to $4,135 after the US dollar slips from its April 2025 high, while FedWatch shows about an 80% December rate hike odds.

Gold prices extended an overnight bounce from a two-month low, rising during the Asian session into the $4,130 to $4,135 area, according to FXStreet.

FXStreet also reported that the US dollar moved away from its highest level since April 2025, which offered some support to bullion.

Still, the upside looked capped as minutes from the September 15 to 16 FOMC meeting showed unanimous support for raising the federal funds rate target range and a tilt toward further tightening.

FXStreet cited CME Group’s FedWatch Tool, saying traders were pricing in about an 80% chance that the Fed will raise borrowing costs in December, which helped limit deeper dollar losses.
