Google launches Playground, a web tool to create games by typing

Google launched Playground, a web platform that lets users describe a game in plain language and receive a playable version without writing code, then refine it through chat prompts. Decrypt reports that users can adjust elements such as physics, rules, characters, and settings, and share the game via a link.

Playground is live for U.S. users age 18 and older, with creation access rolling out in tiers based on a user's Google AI subscription, according to the announcement summarized by Decrypt.

Google said the tool is an early experiment meant to make game creation more approachable, and it runs in a web browser on phones and laptops. Creators can keep games private or publish them to a community gallery, where Google applies a safety screening, with some genres supporting leaderboards and multiplayer, the coverage notes.
