NioBay seeks partners for Crevier niobium-tantalum project in Quebec
The junior explorer said it is targeting first production in the early 2030s and expects partner agreements could be announced over the coming months.
Junior explorer NioBay Metals is seeking financial backers to accelerate development of its Crevier niobium-tantalum project in northern Quebec, aiming for first production in the early 2030s, CEO Jean-Sébastien David said, according to Mining.com.
David said potential partners could include large mining groups as well as existing or future clients, including defense companies, with agreements potentially announced over the coming months.
NioBay said the partnerships would help it move forward with a prefeasibility study and environmental assessment work.
Mining.com also noted that niobium and tantalum have been designated as critical minerals by Canada and the United States, reflecting growing use in defense, automobiles, and artificial intelligence applications.
