Securitize launches tokenized stocks for 12 big U.S. names on Solana
Securitize Stocks will be backed one-to-one by real shares and will trade using USDC on Solana via its registered broker-dealer platform.
Tokenization platform Securitize has launched tokenized stocks for 12 widely held U.S. equities, with trading beginning on Solana.
The initial lineup includes Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Google, Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Circle, Strategy and Palantir, and the tokens are backed one-to-one by underlying shares, according to Decrypt.
Securitize said each token provides a security entitlement that preserves economic benefits such as dividends and the voting rights that apply to certain shares, and that the backing shares will not be lent out.
The offering will initially be available to eligible investors in the U.S., the European Union, and other permitted jurisdictions, with tokens settling in the USDC stablecoin and trading on Securitize’s registered broker-dealer platform, Decrypt reported.
