UK 10-year gilt yield hits highest level since July 2007
The 10-year yield rose 0.06 percentage points to 5.515% as investors reduced holdings amid inflation worries.
UK 10-year government bond yields hit their highest level since July 2007, signaling higher borrowing costs for the UK, according to the Guardian Business.
By lunchtime in London on Thursday, the yield on the 10-year gilt had risen 0.06 percentage points to 5.515%, reflecting investor moves to offload global bonds amid fears of rising inflation.
The outlet said the recent volatility in government bond markets has been driven by international factors, but it could add pressure on John Healey ahead of his first budget as chancellor on October 28.
