Cake Wallet executive warns one Bitcoin transaction can expose years of activity

The executive said people may need extra precautions because a single spend could link past activity.

Bitcoin Magazine reports that Cake Wallet’s chief operating officer, Seth for Privacy, warned on the Bitcoin Rails podcast that taking privacy precautions on Bitcoin matters, because one transaction can compromise years of discreet activity.

The piece also notes that Bitcoin privacy has become a renewed focus after Samourai Wallet’s private coin mixer developers went on trial last year and were subsequently imprisoned.

Bitcoin Magazine further cites that, this week, the U.S. Department of the Treasury scrapped two long-stalled crypto surveillance proposals, a development the article describes as a major win for privacy advocates and the digital asset industry.
